BLACK LAKE TAGGED PANFISH MARATHON

1. Contestants must have a current year Tagged Panfish Marathon Badge in his or her name prior to catching a tagged panfish. You must present your badge when checking in a tagged panfish.

2. Contestants must comply with all New York State fishing and boating regulations. NYS fish­ing licenses are the responsibility of the contes­tant.

3. Contestants checking in any tagged panfish must have personally hooked and landed the panfish, without the assistance of any other person. Except child 5 and under and physically impaired.

4. Tagged panfish must be alive with the tag in place when checked in. Dead or mutilated tagged pan fish will not be eligible for a prize.

5. Contestants must check in the tagged panfish at one of the official Black Lake Tagged Panfish Marathon Check-in Stations. These Check-In Sta­tions are indicated on the brochure with two as­terisks. (* *).

6. Tagged panfish must be checked in within the specified time frame of the Marathon. Any tagged panfish checked in after the deadline of 8 :00 PM, of current year, WILL NOT be eligible for a prize. ALL VOUCHERS WITH THE TAG ATTACHED MUST BE SUBMITTED TO THE SPONSOR WITHIN 24 HOURS AFTER THE TAGGED PANFISH MARATHON ENDS. Sponsors do not have to honor a tag if presented to them after this time.

7. Any contestant qualifying for any prize may be asked to submit to a POLYGRAPH TEST. Any contestant qualifying for a prize of$1,000.00 OR MORE must submit to and pass a POLY­GRAPH TEST. All polygraph tests will be sched­uled at the expense of the Black Lake Tagged Panfish Marathon. The decision of the examiner as to the contestants compliance with tournament rules will be the final decision as to eligibility for any prize.

Black Lake is one of the most widely known fishing and vacation spots in New York State. The lake is located in upstate New York, approximately 2 hours north of Syracuse. Black Lake is a natural, glacier lake formed by the same glacier that carved out the Great Lakes.

Finding Black Lake

Traveling north on New York Interstate 81 exit at LaFargeville {Exit 49, Milemarker 169}. Turn right on NY State Route 411 and follow to NY State Route 37 {Red Caution Light}. Turn left on Route 37 and follow 18 miles to the Amber Caution Light in the Village of Hammond. Turn right on Lake Street (County Route 6) and follow a few miles to the shoreline of Black Lake.
