week of 8/20-8/27
Got here and all settled in and still had a couple of hours to fish. Didn't find the bass or pike yet, but will go after them in the AM. Did however catch my first walleye ever, 23 inches and just under five pounds. It hit a white spinnerbait on the back side of Hogback Island, the rest of the fish in the lake can rest easy now as my fishfry is in the bag. Now just fishing for fun and letting them go, no more stinky fish shack! Thanks to all for the info and I will happily post future updates on our trip.

Well today was mostly a wash, rain with mixed in thunder storms. Got out for about an hour and caught two largemouth on spinnerbaits. Had a couple of hits on a senko but didn't boat any. Both bass were over 15 inches and fat as footballs, they will be here for others to catch.

Much better today, caught 9 largemouth. All on a white spinnerbait and a wacky senko. Five of the bass were 15-17 inches and plump, the rest were 13-14 inches. Still no pike or smallmouth that kind of surpises me. We did get to see a beautiful bald eagle, and a weasle searching for his dinner. No real pattern to the bass, just picking up one here and another there. Maybe I will figure this out in the morning!

Re: week of 8/20-8/27
Fishing hard the last couple of days. Was doing great yesterday caught 7 bass in two hours, then boat problems and lost the rest of the day. Today the boat ran great, but the weather made fishing tough. We managed to scratch out nine bass, and three pike. The other guys in camp didn't catch much of anything, so we did allright I guess. The wind was blowing hard and it looked like rain at times, hopefully conditions will improve. A friend of mine managed to lose his reel handle in the thick of it all, but a good time was had by most.

Well, finished out the week today. Headed home in the morning. Total count for the week was 1 walleye, 3 pike, 50+ LM, 3 SM, too many dink panfish to count. A great time was had and thanks to all who contributed to it. Also, can't remember who it was that recomended Herbert's Steak Ranch but the place is darn good. The people here are great to deal with, see ya'll next year.
