I know that the rules specifically say you cannot target bass out of season, but what about pike? I read and read on the DEC website and don't see language similar to bass. For bass, there is a special regulation regarding the out of season no fishing rule, but there is not a special reg for anything else.
Does that mean you can fish for, but not keep, pike at anytime during the year? And would that apply to walleye as well?
If I'm missing something, can someone please point me to the specific language that prohibits out of season C&R pike fishing?

Re: Out of season pike fishing question
Found my own answer. One line on the bottom of the eregulations document:
A person may not fish for a species (not even Catch-and-Release) outside of the open season for that species on a given water.
