2015/2016 Ice Season

Post by RochNY » Thu Oct 15, 2015 2:36 pm

My guess for Ice-In for the 2015/16 hard water season is December 14, 2015. I don't think anyone else has picked that date at this point.

It's going to stay warm. I say December 21st.
If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.

I have always wanted to come for a weekend in November. I'm surprised there are no posts about the fishing. I've heard fishing could be good now, just wondering why there is no posts. It seems everyone is wanting the ice season too soon. Maybe somebody could report on what's going on now.

Late October and early November are known to be a good time for Fall fishing. Thing is that most of the private owners have closed for the season and are long gone. Your busineses are for the most part also closed for the season. The few people that you are most likely to see on the lake are the locals. The ice fishermen are also looking forward to their upcoming season. So there you go! Catch & Release!

Good Day to the Board.
I am a new member and wanted to share some comments on my first trip to Black Lake mid October. Other than being cold, a litte snowy and windy I, my two boys and brother had a great time. We mainly fished north of the causeway. We stayed two and half days and caught 8 pike, 3 bass, 10 calico, and a bunch of perch. Everything but enough fish for one meal was returned to the lake. At this time of the year we had the lake to ourselves and it was great. After this trip and the time we had we are planning another trip again in mid october. Great lake and fine fishing. Thanks.
