Weeds/WaterLevel?

Post by BassAkwards » Wed Jul 22, 2015 8:23 am

I will be coming up this Saturday and staying for a few days. Is there any reports on how the fishing is or in particular how the weeds? Some years they really seem to be up high and others not so much. Is the water level still way up?

The water is now finally down near where it usually is this time of year. It fell quite rapidly so where there was heavy weed growth before...they are now laying on the surface in those areas. The overall weed growth of the lake is still probably below average but they also seem to have grown more scattered out than normal. The water has been dirty on the main lake for a while which may be limiting growth. The south end has the cleanest water for now.

The largemouth are biting good with some big ones being caught. Smallmouth tend to be here and there and mostly of average size. They should begin grouping up more now in offshore areas of the lake.
Give a starving man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach him how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.

Thanks Randy. I'll keep an eye out for the white nitro if that's what your still fishing out of. Thanks for the info. We will be up making the trip up tomorrow.
