Report 7/28-8/3/13

Enjoyed a nice week of fishing and boating with the family. It was our first time on Black Lake. There were a few rainy periods but the weather cleared up. We caught largemouth bass in shallow areas ~ 2-3 ft right off the dock and also on weedy, windward shorelines using soft plastics both Texas rigged and wacky style.
I did some wadefishing on a shoreline near the place we stayed (this activity brought smiles to some locals) but it paid off with some nice bass out of the shallows. I took my 9 year old daughter out there to catch her first bass.
We also caught a few bass and Northern Pike from the SE side of the lake in coves and off rock ledges. There were lots of panfish mixed in for the kids.
We had fun and would like to come back.
