The 20 of us or so stayed at Butternut Cove for opening day and the next week. Pike fishing was very slow probably worst we've seen in over 25 years coming here.
The 1st couple of days were only producing small pike 18 to 22 inches. On Monday we managed to land 4 for our annual tourny, 3 at 28" and 1 at 30". Those were taken on live shiners, but alot of smaller ones were taken with lures and trolling.
The relentless east wind and high water played a big role in making fishing tough. Oh well we had a great time any ways. I decided to drive from Florida this year, enough of that flying next year.
Slow but fun!

Yep that wind sucked rearend. East the least. shiners finally worked after the wind changed. I HATE USING SHINNERS TO BORING.
