1st timer

Post by blight » Thu May 10, 2018 2:04 pm

Coming up to fish the lake May 24-29th for the first time. Any tips on the lake? Will be targeting smallmouth and walleye if I can find them.

Don't target bass! No bass in till season opener. Black lake is a no pre season bass fishery. I would look for walleye and northern pike in the larger bays. I like to drift bays bays and throw spoons. Go to the log cabin shop and pick up a hot spot map. Also check the regs for the lake, there are special sizes for this lake. Good luck! Bob-O

Happy to hear that I'm not the only one that tries to get the word out on Bass. To all those visiting our lake from where ever - THERE IS NO BASS FISHING EITHER FOR CATCH & RELEASE OR OTHERWISE UNTIL THE REGULAR SEASON BEGINS IN JUNE. We all must protect our lake so it will continue being one of the best lakes in the State of New York.
