Can you make it by water from BL to the St. Lawrence safely? I've never ventured much beyond the lake up towards the St. lawrence

Re: St.Lawrencd from BL
If you take the left fork in the river after BL merges with the Oswegatchie River you will encounter a physical barrier that won't allow you to go up to the St. Lawrence. Depending on the time of year, the upper section of the lake gets pretty well weed choked. Going up that far could cause some over heating issues with your outboard. Hope this answers your question.

You would be headed "down" towards the St. Lawrence. Just to be technical.

Re: St.Lawrencd from BL
Phil, many of us are aware that BL flows from SW to NE. My reference of going UP to the St. Lawrence was that of a compass heading not the flow direction of the lake. If you ask how to get to the Edwardsville Bridge, and you were near Hog Back Island, most people would say head North, you can't miss it. Thanks for being Technical.
