water clarity

Post by njmike » Wed Jun 08, 2016 10:52 am

The water seems remarkably clearer this year than the same time last year. Looking into the water without polarized glasses from the dock it looks like an aquarium. Anyone else think it's clearer than normal? Could it be a zebra muscle issue?
If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.

I was up a few weeks ago and found the water to be very dark, as usual.

It seems that when the wind whips up the lake, the water gets darker. Maybe if its calm for a week or two straight, the organic matter settles and things clear up?

There certainly are zebra muscles in there .... I've always wondered if the lake will end up like the St. Lawrence and have crystal clear water. I hope not!
