marine sparkplugs

Post by wildchild » Sat May 21, 2011 9:17 pm

Hello all! Was wondering if any of you out there, with way more boating experience than I, has any recommendations as to spark plug brands for outboard motors? If it matters, I have a 150 HP Johnson. Thanks in advance for any advice.

I have always ran champion or ngk in my johnson 150 anf never noticed__ any diff. I just bought new plugs at boat us and ngk was way less expensive.

Thanks for the input, I put new plugs in my boat last year and it hasn't run right since. Thought maybe the folks at autozone had done me wrong.

Hey wild. I think mine are champion. When I bought my 150 Johnson, I think there were nkg' s in it. I don't have a preference. I changed them one spring and one of the new ones turned out to be bad. I had to take it to a shop to find out though. Now I leave them alone until they go bad.
