I know this is a black lake forum, but was wondering if anybody has fished this lake as it's nearby black lake. If so, how's the fishing?? From what I have seen it looks like a pretty scenic lake.

I've known Butterfield Lake since back in the 1970s when I lived about a mile east on Cottage Hill Rd. It's a great lake, essentially similar to Black Lake but in smaller scale, roughly 1/10 the size of Black Lake. Because it's smaller and lesser known, it's quieter and less-pressured (less fishing pressure) than Black Lake. Public access is via a DEC launch site at the head of the lake below Redwood (used to be known as Redwood town dock). You'll find good fishing throughout the lake, but it's particularly good in the depths of the southeast corner, and up toward the northeast end where Black Creek exits the lake heading toward Black Lake.
